Red Deer River Naturalists Bird Focus Group Walk November 11, 2023

Eleven birders joined Chris Olsen for a gentle walk through the Bower Woods November 11, 2023. The weather warmed nicely but there was a brisk wind out in the open, and few birds were active. Our group worked diligently to pick up 14 species, and perhaps excepting the Pine Grosbeaks, most were unremarkable. We could expect to see Black-backed, Three-toed and Pileated Woodpeckers in these woods, but that was not our fortune today.
