Bird Trivia Night at Kerry Wood Nature Centre

On  Jan. 19  there will be a bird trivia night at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre at 7:00PM. Come out and have some fun and learn a few things about birds. I guarantee that it will be fun.

Phone Judy Boyd at 403-342-4150 to confirm your attendance.

  1. Would be nice to see more action on this blog. I am interested in the Red Deer area and would like to hear more tales, and adventures about it from the naturalists. As bird artists we always stop at the Kerry Wood nature centre when traveling through to Calgary to photograph the birds there. What are other areas of interest you meander through for birding , wildlife viewing etc?

  2. My apologies for lack of action on this blog. We started it with the idea that a group would contribute to it. The group has been mostly me. There are great photograhpers in RDRN but they are not keen on blogging. I'll work at it.
We have started a Central Alberta birding trail. The part in the city of Red Deer is complete . As you enter the nature center look to your left and you will see a fine brochure which gives details of good birding sites in the city. The next leg of the project is well under way. We hope to have a brochure ready sometime this summer.
Stop at Slack's slough. Coming from the south before you hit REd Deer is Slack's Slough. Hang a right on the interchange before you get to Gasoline alley. There's a parking place about 500 m from the interchange.
